BALI

The island of Bali is rich in spiritual heritage. Bali is uniquely biodiverse and the lush vegetation of native plants, medicinal herbs and terraced rice paddies are instantly recognizable. But the ancient spirituality of this part of Indonesia, off of the beaten path lies the Bali that I aim to convey in my work. From the mist and fog emerge the tops of two volcanos, craggy depressions, vertical drops, the deep ravines that are the jutting knife slashes into the topography of this island. There is a heavy, dark spiritual overtone to the island and culture and I have tried to show this in my work.
